We stepped out of the cab and it pulled away. We stared at the building. "This could be the beginning of something amazing for me." I whispered. Ryan put his arm around me. "Good luck." He said. I looked at him and smiled. "You too." I said. We walked up the steps and into the large entrance. He took my hand as we approached all the beautiful and unique paintings and photographs on the walls. He squeezed my hand, then let go quickly. "Sorry. I'm a little nervous." He said softly. "Darlings." We heard woman say lightly. We turned around. Agnus took our pictures out of our hands. "Follow me." She said. We followed her around the corner to the left. She hung up my picture at the end of the row of photos. "It is magnificant." She said staring at it. "Come." She said waving her hand. We continued to follow her. She put up Ryan's painting at the end of the row of paintings. "You kids are so talented." She said. "Now go look around. Meet me right here at nine sharp." She said. She wandered away. Ryan took my hand and pulled me to a small corner of the room, near the restrooms. I giggled. "What is it?" I whispered. He smiled and pulled me close to him. I got really nervous. He placed his hand on the back of my neck and touched his lips to mine. He gave me a soft peck on the lips, then gazed into my eyes. I smiled and began kissing him. When he slipped his tongue in, I pulled away. "I have a boyfriend." I blurted out. "What?" He asked as he took his hand away from me and put it in his pocket. "At least I think I do." I said. "It's complicated right now I guess." He nodded and looked down at his feet. "I'm sorry." I said. He shrugged his shoulders. "I'm fine." He said with a smile. He looked embarassed. "Let's go check out the art." I said. He smiled. "Okay." He said. We walked around and looked at all the artwork. After a while, Ryan and I found ourselves bored. We walked into the small area where they were serving coffee and hot cocoa. I got a cup of coffee and Ryan got a cup of hot cocoa. We sat down at a table. "Can you beleive someone actually put up that photo of that Indian woman?" He whispered to me. I giggled. "I was thinking the same thing when I saw it, but I didn't want to say anything." I whispered back. My phone rang right then. I smiled and answered it. "Baby, I love you. I don't know what I was thinking before. I don't want to lose you." I heard Nick say softly. I looked up at Ryan and I swear my future flashed before my eyes. He smiled at me. "It's over, Nicky." I said. Ryan got a weird look on his face. "I didn't mean what I said before." Nick muttered. "I love you too, but it's not going to work as long as I am here. We both know that." I said. "It will work." He said. "Call me back in a week and then tell me that same thing." I said. "Oh come on, baby. You're not that busy." He said. "I've done nothing but work since I've been here." I said. He hung up right then. "I'm sorry." Ryan said. I smiled and stood up. He stood up too. "Would you like to come home with me tonight?" He asked. "Oh um. . ." I didn't know what to say. He laughed. "I just mean to hang out. . . you know, celebrate." He said. I smiled and nodded. "Sure." I said. "Cool." He said. We both sat back down and finished our drinks. When it hit nine, we walked back over to where we were suppose to meet Agnus. "Nothing big yet." She said handing us our pictures. "Two weeks from today, same time, same place. Be here with another picture." She said and walked off. "Well, alright then." Ryan said. We walked outside and waited for a cab. He waved one down and we headed to his place. He stopped the cab driver when we pulled up at very tall apartment building. He took my hand as we walked up three flights of stairs. There was some loud music blasting as we walked into his apartment. There was a guy with a pipe in his hand. "Hey, Ry." He said. "David, this is Sam." I smiled and he waved. "Pleasure meeting you." David said. "Follow me." He said. I followed him to his bedroom. We walked inside and he shut the door. His bedroom was amazing. He had paintings on the walls and everything in the room was perfectly in place. There wasn't a single sign of slopiness. I wondered if his closet was just as neat. I sat down on his bed and he sat down next to me. He looked at me, then leaned over and started kissing me. This time, when he slipped in his tongue, I didn't pull away. It was amazing. It felt like the whole world had stopped and we were the only two people left. I did in fact stop him when his hand started reach down my pants. He pulled his hand away. "Is that not okay?" He asked. "I never rush into this kind of thing." I said. "Okay. . ." He said. "I think I better get home." I said. "You've only been here for like ten minutes." He said. I smiled. "I'll see you at the show in two weeks." I said. I picked up my purse and went home.
