"And I was thinking ivory for the tableclothes and chair covers." I heard my Mom say. She went on and on about all her ideas to the wedding planner. I didn't bother to listen to their conversation much. I kept thinking about Matt and I felt bad for not contacting him in three weeks. I quit my job over the phone and I was very breif about it. I didn't give him any details. He failed to contact me as well. "How does red sound?" I heard as I felt a nudge on my shoulder. I looked up. It was my Mother. "Red for what?" I asked.
"The roses. Or we can go with pink." She suggested. She picked up a flower from the vase of each color. For some reason, the yellow cought my attention more. "I think I like the yellow." I said.
"You want your bridesmaids wearing yellow dresses?" She asked giggling.
I rolled my eyes. "I guess the pink." I said rudly.
"Should we do this another day when you can focus and make the right choices?" Mom asked.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. "I want pink!" I said.
Her and Artica, the wedding planner jumped in their seats.
"The pink would be very eligent." Artica said as she picked up one of the pink roses.
I sighed and leaned back in the chair.
"Let's move on to the music selection." She said as she flipped a few pages in the binder in front of her.
"Smooth jazz." Mom said.
"No way!" I said.
"What do you suggest?" Mom asked me.
"I'm going to make my own list of songs that Nick and I love." I said.
"Such as?" She asked.
"I'm not sure. Lots of different types of music." I said.
"No rap or rock n roll." Mom said.
"The list will include both RAP AND ROCK N ROLL!" I shouted.
"This is going to be the tackiest wedding I've ever seen!" Mom shouted. She stood up. I stood up after her. "Thank you." Mom said to Artica. She stormed out of the office and I stormed out behind her. We argued the whole way back home about the wedding. I was releived when we got home and Gila was there. I grabbed her arm and we went upstairs to my room. "This is crazy!" I shouted.
"What is?"
"All of her ideas suck!" I shouted.
"All of her ideas are tacky!" I heard Mom shout.
"It's her wedding, dear." Dad told her. I heard her sighed loudly and I could hear her walking quickly down the hall in her heals.
"I can't take this anymore!" I yelled.
"Sure you can." She said. "Why don't we go spend a day at the spa tomorrow? We'll get there early."
I sighed. "That sounds great." I said.
She put her arm around me. "You're doing the right thing. You and Nick are perfect for eachother. Maybe you should take him to the wedding planner instead of your Mom and Nick's Mom?" She suggested.
"I don't know." I said.
"We both know he'd go." She said.
I smiled. "He would. I'd rather surprise him though. Wanna help me scope out his iPod tonight? I know he has a few favorite song playlists, I'd like to write a bunch down to give to the DJ."
"Sounds good." She said smiling.
We layed back in my bed and both sighed at the same time.
"Ugh! What a day!" I said.
"Tell me about it." She said.
