"Breakfast is on the table!" Lucy shouted through the intercom.
I didn't feel like getting ready for the day yet, so I just threw my hair and put on my red robe. I slipped on my red Clifford slippers and went downstairs. I was very embarassed when I saw Johnny at the table. "We have guests." Mom said as I walked into the dining room. Nick was there too, along with his parents.
"Mom, why didn't you tell me?" I asked frustrated.
"Oh sweetie, it's fine. Sit down." Nick's Mom said as she pulled out the chair next to her. Nick was sitting right across from me. "Why didn't you tell me? I just talked to you on the phone." I said to Nick. He just smiled. All I ate was a small muffin and a banana, then I rushed back to my bedroom. I took a shower, got dressed and did my make up. I heard a light knock on my door. "Come in." I said. I heard the door open. I put on my left earring and stepped back into my room. It was Johnny.
"You look nice." He said.
"Thanks." I smiled.
He walked over to me and took my hands in his. He just stood there staring at me. "What?" I giggled.
He smiled, then pulled me close to him. He placed his hand on the back of my neck and started kissing me. Once again, I couldn't get myself to pull away. We kissed for only minutes, until we heard someone walking down the hall. I quickly sat down in front of my vanity and started puting on some lipgloss over my pale pink lipstick. "Hey, beautiful." I heard Nick say. He came up behind me and put his arms around me.
"Hey you." I said smiling.
He squeezed me tight and I laughed. "How's it goin?" He asked Johnny.
"Pretty good." He answered.
"I was thinking you and I should go to his tournemant. I could use a break from golf and work." Nick said.
"Oh. . . um." I didn't know what to say. I thought it would be too awkward to go watch Johnny with Nick. "I'm not really feeling up to it." I said.
"Yeah, it's a small one. It's not really a big deal." Johnny said.
Nick stood up, looked at me, then looked at Johnny. "Did I interupt something?" Nick asked. "I'm sorry." He took a few steps back.
"No. Not at all." I said smiling. I stood up.
"Okay. Just making sure I didn't walk into a private conversation or something." Nick said. He smiled at me.
"Well, I will see you guys later." Johnny said.
"Bye, hun." I said.
He looked at me and smiled. "See ya." He said. He left the room.
"Hey, Nick?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
We sat down on my bed. "Have any girls showed interest in you since we've been together?" I asked.
"A couple. Why?"
"Just wondering." I said. "Did any of them ever tempt you?"
"Maybe a little." He said. "Not enough for me to cheat on you or anything." He got a confused look on his face.
"That has been happening to me a lot lately." I said.
"What do you tell them?" He asked.
"I never know what to say." I said. "I hate hurting people and I know it sucks to be turned down by someone."
"Tell them you're engaged." He said taking my hand.
I smiled and nodded. "That doesn't work." I said.
"Who's puting moves on you knowing you are engaged?" He asked.
I just shrugged my shoulders.
"Efrom?" He asked.
"No!" I said. "Efrom is a really great person. He is very respectful. He would never do that."
"I thought so. I'm sorry. I don't mean to accuse anyone." He said.
"What did you say to the girls that tried to get with you?" I asked.
"I just said I'm sorry, but I have a girlfriend." He said. "Simple as that."
"And they all backed off?" I asked.
"Most of them do." He said. "The ones that don't, I just avoid."
"What if they are people you care about?" I asked.
"Then I would explain to them in a nice way that I am in love with my girlfriend." He said. "I'd also let them know that if they care about me, then they'd respect me."
I gave him a hug.
"Anyone I know?" He asked.
I shook my head no. "I love you." I told him.
"I love you too." He said.
"I guess I just keep going crazy with all the wedding stuff going on." I said.
"Would you like me to go with you to meet with the wedding planner?" He asked.
"Yeah. If my Mom didn't scare the poor lady away." I said.
He laughed. "I'll pick you up at 2:00." He said.
"Okay."
He gave me a kiss and left. I changed into some shorts and a tank top. I went outside to the batting cage, near the tennis court. I missed the ball every time it came flying at me and it pissed me off, because of how horrible I was doing. "I use to be good at this!" I shouted as I threw the baseball bat at the fence. It fell onto the ground and came rolling back to me. I just left it and went back inside. I was sweating a lot, so I took another shower. It was almost 2:00 by the time I was done getting ready. As I was about to leave my room and go downstairs to wait for Nick, my phone rang. I grabbed it excitedly without even checking to see who it was. "Hello?!" I asked.
There was no answer. I looked at the phone. It was Matt.
"Matt?" I asked softly.
"Hi."
"I am so glad you called." I said.
"I was just wondering if I could get your address. You left a few things in your locker. I figured I could send them to you." He said.
"Oh. . ."
"It's just a makeup bag, a gel pen and a little note pad." He said.
"I am so sorry I left the way I did." I blurted out.
"You ran back to your perfect life after I introduced you to mine. I'm not surprised. It's not the first time it's happened. Can you just give me your address so I can send you your things?" He said.
"My life is NOT perfect here!" I shouted. I heard honking outside. I peaked out the window and it was Nick.
"Oh please. Not perfect. You don't even have to work and everything is just given to you. Whatever you want is given to you." He said.
"You obviously know nothing about me." I said.
"Yeah. I know I don't I thought I did, but I was wrong." He said.
I heard Nick honking his horn again.
"Is that your limo to take you to the oscars?" He asked rudly.
"You know what? The reason I was hoping you would call is because I like you Matt. I really like you a lot, but obviously you don't feel the same way. I guess the time I spent with you was a huge waste of time. I gotta go meet with my wedding planner now. Nick is waiting for me outside." I said.
"You're getting married?" I heard him shout as I hung up the phone. I rushed downstairs. I was so angry! I hopped into Nick's car and he drove off.
"What's wrong?" He asked. "You look a little worked up." He put his hand on my leg.
"Everyone just wants to piss me off lately." I said.
"Ignore them." He said.
"I'll try." I said.
