"Where are my clubs?!" I shouted with frustration. "Daddy!" I wined.
"What is the matter, dear?" Flora asked as she stepped into my bedroom.
"Where's Lucille?" I asked her.
"She went shopping with her sister today. I am here. How can I help you?" She asked.
I never liked Flora as much as Lucille. Lucille had been with the family much longer and was much more helpfull. "I can't find my golf clubs." I told her.
"I will go ask your father." She said. She smiled and left. I realized I sounded just like Anna and my Mother. I sighed. I pushed the general intercom button on the intercom. "Flora, I only have twenty minutes." I said frustrated.
"I am almost to your Father's room." I heard her say back.
I sat down my bed. "They are in the gym in the closet. I will have them at the front door for you." She said.
"Where is Darren?" I asked.
"Your Mother fired him." She said back.
I went storming downstairs to the gym. "You fired Darren?" I asked.
"He kept sleeping in your bed." She said.
"So!"
"I didn't trust him."
"Well, are you going to replace him so Flora and Lucille aren't stuck hauling my heavy golf clubs to the front door for me?" I asked.
"Darling, she should be hauling them right into the car." She said.
"She shouldn't be hauling anything heavy anywhere!" I shouted. "Well, besides the vacuum. . ."
She just looked at me. "I'll replace him." I said.
"No. I will replace him!" She shouted. I rushed to the front door. "He is outside." Flora said.
"Thank you so much." I said. I grabbed my clubs and rolled them outside to the car. My Dad put them in the trunk and we headed to the golf course. "I don't understand why you girls have to wear those little skirts when you go golfing." He said.
I smiled at him. "They're cute, Daddy."
"For Nick?"
"No."
"Uh huh." He said.
"Daddy, I don't have to impress Nick." I said.
"But you want to." He said.
"So maybe I do a little." I said.
He laughed at me. We pulled up at the Meadowlark Golf Course and I got out. My Dad parked and met me in front with our clubs. We stood in the lobby as we waited for Nick and his Father to get there. "Clint." I heard my Dad say as he waved his hand in the air. I turned around. They walked up to us. "Ready to get your booty kicked?" Nick asked me.
I gave him a dirty look. "Hope you've been workin on that back swing." I giggled.
"Always." He said.
Our Dads walked up to the counter to rent a cart and get our score cards. "Cart 10." Clint said walking up to us. We went running and found cart 10. Nick hopped in and started driving off really fast. I was laughing so hard. "No games!" Clint shouted to him. He spead around a tree and the cart tilted to the side. He spead back to us and slammed on the breaks. "I am the driver. Get up." Clint said.
"Boring." Nick said to me.
Clint glared at him and we laughed. "We brought adults with us. Not children." He said.
"Let's get started." My Dad said.
We golf for three hours and finally went back home. Nick creamed all of us and it pissed off both of our Dads for some reason. It put me in a bad mood too. "They are playing basketball." Anna said when I walked in.
"Indoor or outdoor?" I asked.
"The pool is open." She said.
"All you had to say was outdoor!" I shouted.
"Jesus, have a mental." I heard her say. I just kept walking. I went outside and walked to the basketball court. Jaime had some friends over and they were all playing basketball. "Gorgeous." Mike said as I walked up to them. "How are you?" He asked.
"Been better. Baby, will you come watch a movie with me?" I asked Johnny.
"Let him hang out." Jaime said.
"Oh no it's okay." Johnny said tossing the ball to Mike. He walked over to me and gave me a hug. "The boy is whipped already." Jaime said. All the guys laughed.
"Fuck you, Jaime." I said.
"Do you mind if I keep playing for a little longer?" Johnny asked me.
"Oh. Uh, not at all. Go ahead." I lied. I felt like crying. I went back to my bedroom and shut the door. I looked through all my DVD's and decided to watch Some Like It Hot. I changed into my silk nighty and robe. I layed back on my bed. "Flora, will you bring me a lemonaide and some peanuts please?" I called out through the intercom. It took her a few seconds to answer and she sounded like she was out of breath. "Yes, dear." She said. "I just cut up some fruit. Would you like that instead of peanuts?"
"Sure. Thanks, Flora." I said nicely.
I watched the movie for about fifteen minutes before she brought me my snack. She even brought me a little pitcher of lemonaide to refill my cup. "Thanks." I told her again smiling. She smiled. "You're the only one who ever thanks me."
"They really do appreciate you." I said smiling.
She nodded. "Dinner is at seven tonight. Sounds like some of the family will be here." She said.
"Okay." I said.
"You look dissapointed." She said as she fixed the comforter where it was lifted up at the end of the bed.
"Everyone was grouchy at the golf course. All I wanted to do was hang out with Johnny, but he's too busy with Jaime and his stupid friends." I said.
She sat down next to me on the bed. "It's good that he likes your brother, yes?"
"I guess." I said. "But, he didn't even tell me how it went today. He sighed up for a skateboard tournemant. I thought he would come talk to me about all excited when I got home."
"He was thrilled about it when they got home from the mall." She said.
I smiled.
"Nothing to worry about. He is just having a good time with your brother." She said.
"Yeah, I know."
"You're not like the rest of this women you know?" She said.
I smiled. "Yes I am."
She laughed. "Only you're smarter."
"I am not smarter. My Mom is very inteligent." I said.
She smiled. "She sure is. But, you have more common sence." She stood up. We both laughed. She looked at her watch. "Time for Lucille to take over." She said. "Good luck with the boy."
"Thanks." I said.
I leaned back in the bed and dozed off.
