I was sitting at a small table outside of a cafe picking at my sandwich. My first day back had been exausting! All I wanted to do was go home and relax in a hot bath. I was thinking about that when my phone rang. It was Johnny.
"Hey." I answered.
"Hey, how are you?" He asked.
"Tired. My first day back has been such a drag." I told him. "How are you?"
"Great! I won a small competition yesterday. Your brother kicks ass to live with too." He said, and I laughed.
"That's great. I'm glad you like Cali." I said.
"I love it! I'm dying for a New York Hot Dog though." He said. "Hey, I'm going to be out there with Jaime in a few days to get my stuff and see my parents and everything. Make sure you aren't busy." He said.
"Oh cool! It'll be good to see you. I'll make sure I'm free. Just call me later to let me know exactly when you'll be up here." I told him.
"I will. Oh, shit! I gotta go! The guys are leaving without me." He said.
"Okay, bye!" I told him.
"Bye!" He said, and hung up. I just laughed. I got up and threw my uneatin sandwhich in the trash and walked back to work. I was bummed because I hadn't had a chance to see Matt all day. He was busy meeting with advertizers all day. When the elivator doors opened I was exstatic to see him!
"Matt!" I shouted.
"Hey! How are you?" He asked. When the doors shut, he gave me a hug.
"Great. I'm glad to be back." I told him.
"I'm glad to have you back." He said, and smiled.
"So, how did it work with Johnny out there?" He asked.
"We broke up." I told him.
"Sorry to hear." He said.
"Nah, it's cool. We are friends. In fact he is staying out there and living with my brother." I told him.
"Interesting. I'm glad it was a good breakup then." He said.
"Yeah, me too. So, why are so busy today?" I asked him.
"We had a couple huge advertizers pull out of appearing in the magzine. So I've been trying to book some more. We really can't afford to loose any funding right now." He said. Then he started to go on about a lot of other stuff, and I had no idea what he was talking about.
"I'm sorry. I'm boring you, aren't I?" He asked.
"No. I just don't know what you are talking about." I told him, and he laughed.
"It's just been stressful." He said. We stepped off the elevator, and I stopped him before he started to walk to his office.
"If you ever want to go dancing, call me. It's good stress relief." I told him.
"It is, and I will. Have a good day." He told me and left. I smiled as he walked away. I felt a lot better after seeing him. I walked to the front desk to see what I needed to do that afternoon.
