Johnny looked so nervous standing up on the half-pipe. Looking at him made me feel nervous. Everything the anouncer said was a complete blur! I didn't know what any of the terms were anwyay. I watched Johnny fly thew the air, and kept bracing myself in case he fell. He didn't fall though, and the crowd was cheering. "Amazing! This is no amature here!" The announcer said. "We've got a kid with his eyes on the pro's! LOOK AT THAT!" He said when Johnny did a trick. I felt so proud of him. As soon as he was done, I ran down to the gate and hugged him. He was smiling. "So far I'm the ONLY one who hasn't screwed up any of tricks." He said. "I know. I'm so proud of you." I said, and kissed him. "I have to go back there." He said, pointing to an area blocked off for the competitors. "I need to get some water and stretch out. I'm postive I made it to the final round with that score." He said. "Okay. Good luck!" I said, and kissed his cheek. He walked off and I ran back up and sat by Jaime and Anna. They were arguing about something, but I didn't even pay any attention to them. It was an hour before it was time for the finals. I watched all the other skaters anxiously. I wanted them all to mess up! A few were really good though. Johnny was up last. I saw him up there, and held my breath. Anna held my hand, and it made me feel a little better. He took off right away, and did the most amazing tricks yet! He completely blew the compition away. "Oh my god!" I heard Anna whisper a few times. It was amazing. When He was done the judges started rattling off scores, and I didn't hear a thing! I just ran back down to meet him. He saw me, and I ran over and jumped in his arms. "That was amazing!" I shouted. "Ew. You are really sweaty." "Well, yeah." He said, and laughed. "And the WINNER of the 3rd anual Ammature Skating Challange is..." The anouncer said, "Jersey Johnny! Number 34!" "Jersey Johnny! I'm from NEW YORK YOU BASTARD!" Johnny shouted. "Just go up there!" I said, and pushed him. He walked up to the stage and he took the mic from the announcer. "It's New York Asshole!" He said, and the whole crowd roared with laughter. The announcer just laughed and took the mic away from him. Johnny dissapeared behind the stage, leaving me to wait for him. About a half hour later he came out with a bunch of stuff. "What the hell is all this?" I asked him. "I won a sponsor ship from Maddogs Skate Pro Shop." He said. "Are you serious?" I asked. "Yeah. They are going to pay for all my stuff, and to go around competing in the smaller competitions!" He said. "That is amazing!" I shouted, and hugged him. "Won't you be gone a lot?" I asked him. "Yeah. Most of them are on the west coast." He said. "Oh." I told him. "Don't look so sad! This is it! I'm on way to becoming pro!" He said. "That is great!" I told him. I wasn't too excited though. We went home and Jaime went running inside, telling EVERYONE that Johnny won. For one VERY rare, and VERY brief moment, my father actualy looked impressed. "I'm very impressed." He told Johnny, and shook his hand. "Thank you Sir." Johnny said. "I think this calls for a celebration. Everyone meet down here at 6:00. We're going out on the town." My dad said. Everyone cheered. Except for Johnny. He just looked confused. "Come on. We have to get ready." I told him, and took has hand. He followed me upstairs. "Does your dad like me now?" He asked. "He likes anyone that excels at what they do." I told him, and he smiled. "Come on, dress nice. We are off to a fancy dinner, and who knows what else. When my dad takes us out it is always a suprise, and always a blast." I told him. I picked out an outfit for him then made him jump in the shower while I got ready.
