"Hi." Jaime said as he answered the door. "What the hell happen to you?"
"Is Johnny here?" I asked.
"No, you just missed him." He said.
"Of course." I said. I left quickly and just started driving. I had no idea where I was going. I called Efrom, but there was no answer. I called Gila. No answer. I called Brit. No answer. I called Brit again.
"Hey, bitch." She said.
"Mind meeting up by the water?" I asked.
"Of course not. I'm just sitting here with Benny the terror watching cartoons." She giggled. I heard Benny tell her to shut up. "Oh, little brothers." She said. He told her to shut up again.
"Now?" I asked.
"Second watch tower? Like old times?" She said.
"Yeah."
"See you in a few." She said and hung up. I drove to the beach and walked down to the water. It felt amazing. "Damnit!" I said to myself. I really loved many things about Newport. There was also a lot I loved about New York. I thought about Nick again. With him, we would have a house in both locations. I smiled as I thought about it more. "Rawr!" I heard. I jumped and turned around quickly. It was Brit. She slipped her skirt off and then her shirt. She went running into the water. "This is the BEST time for this!" She shouted to me. I laughed. My phone rang. "Get your ass in here!" She houted.
"Hold on." I told her as I picked up my phone. I didn't recognize the number, but I answered anyway.
"Jaime said you were looking for me."
"Johnny." I said.
He laughed. "Yes?"
"These last few days have been really crappy." I said.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"I've talked to Matt a few times. He's not happy. I think I really hurt his feelings." I explained. I dug into the wet sand with my right foot. I drew a heart as the water splashed over it. "I'm so lost." I told him starting to cry.
"You weren't lost in New York." He said.
"I'm afraid I was being something I'm not there though. I am not the same person here as I am there." I said.
"Where are you?" He asked.
"The beach."
"Alone?"
"No. My friend Brit is with me." I said.
"Okay. Just making sure you weren't alone. It's dark out now." He said.
"Oh I come here a lot by myself at night. There is rarely anyone around." I said.
"Well, you know better than me." He said.
"I'll call you tomorrow." I said.
"Okay. Goodnight."
"Night." I said.
I hung up the phone and called Nick. I told him where I was. Brit called Ricky and he said he'd bring some wine coolers.
"I said, get your ass in here!" She shouted giggling.
I took off my shirt and jeans and went running after her. We both started laughing when we realized we didn't have towels to dry off. When the guys got there, they had a few blankets, so we wrapped up in those. Just like always, we had a great time out there. Whenever I was with Nick, I couldn't imagine my life without him. "I love you." He whispered in my ear.
"I love you." I said to him.
"Sorry about earlier. I should have thought about it more before I told our Mom's that red was okay." He said. "It's going to be yellow. I don't care what they say."
"It's okay." I said. "I forgive ya."
"Good." He said as he kissed the side of my neck. He pulled me back into his arms.
"You guys are too cute." Brit said.
"I think the four of us need to chill more often. Brit and I got a little crazy without you two." Ricky said.
"So do we." I said.
We all laughed. "I swear you guys bring me back to reality." I said.
